Bongos Ikwue remixes Cock Crow at Dawn with reggae artiste

Bongos Ikwue
Legendary singer and acoustic guitarist, who turned building construction guru, Igochie Ikwue aka Bongos Ikwue, recently surprised a young reggae artiste (Vincent Nyam) aka Jah Device, when he appeared in the recording studio to join him in the remix of Cock Crow at Dawn.
The early 1980s soundtrack for the Nigerian Television Authority’s back-to-farm family soap of the same title, featured star actors such as Sadiq Daba and Ene Oloja.
The very principled Bongos Ikwe’s addition to the remix is going down in history as the first sound recording with any old or new generation artistes.
An overwhelmed Jah Device says, “I walked up to him and told him that I would like to have his permission to remix his evergreen song, Cock Crow At Dawn. He simply said, ‘Why not, go ahead.’ But I was humbled when he physically showed up in the recording studio to add his support to the project.”
The already completed song will be part of Jah Device’s debut solo album due out early next year.
He has two singles, Please Don’t Go and This Love to his credit and they are currently enjoying airplay across the country.
