Nigeria Presidency to spend N1.58bn on computers in 2013.


Computers
The Presidency is to spend the sum of N1,578,493,453 on computers and related items next year.
The sum is expected to cover the procurement of items listed under office stationery/computer consumables, computer software acquisition, and purchase of computers and printers in the offices of the President and the Vice-President, as well as some agencies listed under the Presidency.
The agencies include the Border Communities Development Agency, Bureau for Public Enterprises, Bureau for Public Procurement, National Emergency Management Agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative and National Institute for Strategic Studies, Jos.
Others are the National Boundary Commission, National Atomic Energy Agency and Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Millennium Development Goals.
Out of the N1.5bn, the Federal Government is proposing N508m for the procurement of office stationery and another N95m for the acquisition of computer software by the State House Headquarters.
The sums of N332.9m and N175m were proposed for office stationery and computer consumables for the offices of the President and Vice-President, respectively.
An additional sum of N30m was proposed for the purchase and installation of “Computer Associates CA IT Services Management System” in the year 2013 budget estimates.
