Mike Okri returns.

Mike Okri
It was at the comedy show, A Nite of a Thousand Laughs Xtra, which was in commemoration of the nation’s independence.
Dressed in a red long sleeve shirt over a pair of black trousers and matching red shoes and black waist coat, Okri’s entry from the crowd followed by three big band drummers prepared the minds of the audience on what was in stock for them.
His first offering was his classic, Omoge. The crowd exploded. Okri’s two dancers engaged him in a sustained physical dance that made the crowd to roar in appreciation. His Rhumba Dance song became an anthem as the audience sang along. Okri, who was playing his first major show on Nigerian soil after his almost 12 years sojourn in the United States of America, was enjoying himself. His last offering was his R & B evergreen You are The One, a duet with Veno Mariogha-Mbanefo, which he did with a female singer. This song calmed the crowd down and brought a feeling of nostalgia to almost everyone that knew when the song, and even the singer were big in the music scene in the late 80s through 90s. Okri was emotion-laden and assured Nigerians that he still has music in him.
