Nations Cup: Eagles to know opponents today.

Super Eagles will know their opponents tonight as the draw for the 2013 Africa Nations Cup holds in South Africa. Nigeria could face Cote d’Ivoire or Ghana in the first round as a result of the seeding announced by the Confederation of African Football last week. CAF also seeded host nation South Africa and defending champions Zambia along with the other two.
But despite the challenge, Eagles coach Stephen Keshi and some of his players have said they were set to take on any team.
“We have been working very hard to do well in the competition and not for any particular team. Every team that has qualified is special and that is the way we will play against all other teams. We are not about any particular on,” Keshi said before flying out to Durban for the draw.
Nigeria are in Pot Two with Tunisia, Mali and Angola. The seeded teams are in Pot One.
The PUNCH checks on the pre-draw events in South Africa on Tuesday showed that all the 16 teams that qualified to participate in the finals went through an exhaustive workshop at the Suncoast Hotels and Towers in Durban. The event, which was scheduled for team delegation leaders, national team coaches and administrators, was directed by the Tournament Directors Shereen Arafa of CAF and Paul Russell of the LOC. The teams were put through all the requirements of the competition including marketing, medical, media, team organisation, travels, accommodation and accreditation.
While Togo, Niger and Ethiopia could not make it to the workshop, Nigeria was represented by Enebi Achor, Team Secretary.
On Tuesday, the teams were told that CAF will only cater for 30 members of each delegation — seven officials and 23 players. Those with larger number of members are advised to contact the LOC to block hotel reservations and the bookings must be confirmed by December 1 at the latest.
The opening match of the Nations Cup will kick off at the 87,226 capacity Soccer City in Johannesburg on January 19 by 18.00hrs (local time ) between South Africa and the team that will be drawn as A4 tonight.

•Pot One: South Africa, Zambia, Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire
•Pot Two: Mali, Tunisia, Angola, Nigeria
•Pot Three: Algeria, Burkina Faso, Morocco, Niger
•Pot Four: Togo, Cape Verde, DR Congo, Ethiopia
